    Its better to use a gradient grey with a hint of blue, better for depth and shading…and easier on the eyes.

    when you start a …
    when you start a painting, you usually start with your shape, then tonal range, then add colour… you start from grey, then add your darks, add your lights, if you start from white, everything you add is darker, if you start from grey, you can see better your impact. also, it REALLY helps the eyes

    because if you’re working on it for a long period of time, grey is easier on the eyes. and it gives the picture more depth :D

    lol, being a graphic student myself, i agree with u “unstoppablefool” i know for a fact that its MUCH harder. (i find still life pritty dam easy) If u have somthing infront of you, the thinking part is already done for u, u dont need to think about how light is reflected, the shadows created or even how texture needs to be applyed(not saying Nico Di Mattia is crap) but highlighting the fact that it is harder to bring things to life that dont exsist.
