#830 - Western Digital Raptor X 150GB Hard Drive
Filed under: Uncategorized

“The Western Digital Raptor X 150GB Hard Drive performs very well in a single drive configuration, but even better in a RAID0 configuration. This is really no surprise to me because I’ve own all the Western Digital Raptor series drives and they were stable, reliable and fast. None of these drives have ever failed. The Western Digital Raptor X 150GB Hard Drive is a perfect drive to have if you are a serious gamer or into hard drive intensive applications like video editing. Watch the video to …

    3 of the 5 drives …
3 of the 5 drives in my PC including the Raptor are Western Digital, the Raptor has failed outright, the other 2 are just run of the mill hard drives that are about 2 years old, both of those are also slowly failing. The remaining 2 drives are about 4 years old and are in perfect working order, neither is a Western Digital drive. Needless to say the high failure rate combined with the dire customer service means I wont be buying Western Digital products again.

I dont know about their customer service but the HDD’s are ok. I own a Raptor and a Green Power TB drive and they both work smooth like silk.

Its not so much the failure thats the issue, its more so Western Digitals shockingly bad customer service. When you pay £150 for an Enterprise class hard drive you expect it to last, when it doesn’t you at least expect prompt customer service.

    “None of these …
“None of these drives have ever failed”

Mine just failed so bang goes that statistic. My Raptor is less than a year old and now sounds like its trying to eat itself. Save yourself a lot of money and buy a much cheaper drive, it’ll probably be more reliable.
